My homemade prototype was simple. It allowed the engineer to understand just what I was trying to achieve. I walked through Walmart until I seen something I could use to get the picture of my product out of my head. With absolutely no design or engineering skills, I nailed it. My product designer and engineer knew exactly what I wanted. They brought their expertise to the process and SureCover was born.

This is so good, thank you for sharing @OpenDoor. Really love how you just walked through Walmart and made it happen. That kind of resourcefulness is everything.

The prototype photo says it all. It’s super clear and easy to understand what the idea is. Sometimes that first rough version gets the message across better than anything else.

Curious, what advice would you give to someone who’s still stuck in their head and nervous to start prototyping?
